# Power systems

SHOP is focused on the modelling of hydropower systems, but has gradually evolved to include components to model the power system as a whole. [Batteries](battery), [wind power](wind), [solar power](solar), and [thermal power generators](thermal) are all possible to include in a standard SHOP model. In addition, several [](busbar) objects can be connected with [ac_lines](ac_line) and [dc_lines](dc_line) to model optimal power flow and transmission constraints.
